Beauty of the Land

For a small nation, Israel has remarkable geographical diversity:  the lowest point in the world at the Dead Sea; the heights of the Golan; lush valleys and stark deserts; the magnificent hills of Jerusalem; coastlines at the Mediterranean and the Red Sea, as well as the freshwater Kinneret.

This is not taken for granted by Israelis, who are out and about on “tiyulim” — outings — whenever possible. Israeli character is marked by an ability to treasure, and enjoy, these gifts.
